Pooches in the Patch

Come Strutt your Mutt and Pawty in the Patch Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 11:00A.M.-6:00 P.M.

This outdoor pup-ular event includes dressing your pooch in their favorite Howl-o-ween costume and joining Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch for their 9th Annual Pooches in the Patch.

Make sure to guess how many dog treats are in the jar at the kissing booth.  Winner will get the jar filled with dog treats and a prize.  Winner will be announced on Facebook at the end of the day.

Mingle with other dogs and dog lovers while you Sip and Drool at our Grain Bin Bar!

12:00-1:00 – Meet dogs looking for their fur-ever home from Journey Home Animal

1:00 – 1:30 – Sign your pooch up for the Pooch Parade and costume contests @ Nelson’s Pumpkin Shack

1:45 Costume Pooch Parade on the Ruff-Way-Red Carpet!
-Costume Contest will begin immediately following Pooch Parade

3:00 -4:00 Yappy Hour
-Come Sip and Drool @ The Grain Bin Bar with your Furry Friends! $1.00 off all Beer, Wine, and Seltzers!

Contest Details

  • Sign your pooch up for the Pooch Parade and costume contests @ Nelson’s Pumpkin Shack
  • Participant’s entry number tag(which will be provided) must be visible to the judges.
  • Winners will be announced as soon as the contest is complete & winners will receive a prize!
  • Entrants cannot win in more than one category.
  • The judges’ decisions are final.
  • Guest Judges will be judging your doggies in these Costume Contest Categories:
    • Spookiest
    • Best Child & Pet Category
    • Best Dog/Owner Costume Combo
    • Most Original
In each category the 1st place winner will receive a $50.00 gift card to Pet Smart

The Fine Paw Print - Friendly Reminders

  • Only dogs allowed in this contest.  Please do not bring other animals.
  • Dogs must wear I.D. tags at all times.
  • Dogs must be on a leash –(max 6 ft. lock retractable leashes at 6ft.)
  • Dogs must be under your control at all times.
  • Owners/Handlers are responsible for the actions of their pets.
  • They must be up-to-date on all shots, including rabies vaccinations.
  • Event officials reserve the right to refuse entry or excuse aggressive dogs from the event area.
  • Dogs must be sociable with other pets, adults and children.
  • Dogs must be well adjusted to crowds & noisy environments.
  • Be prepared to clean up after your pet.

A portion of the funds raised from this event will be given to Journey Home Animal Rescue.
