Scarecrows, Pumpkin and Bales of Hay!  Join us to celebrate local Non-Profits on this day!

Local businesses and organizations-we need YOU!  Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch is hosting a Scarecrow Shenanigans COIN WAR to benefit a non-profit organization.  Winner will select the benefitting non-profit to receive the donations collected September 9th-October 1st at Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch.

Get your team together and let your creativity run wild! Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch is searching for  local businesses & organizations to enter a SCARECROW CONTEST. We will display your scarecrow and collect $$$$  from Saturday, September 9th– Sunday, October 1st.

 

On Sunday, OCTOBER 1st,  Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch will announce the WINNER, at 2:00PM.  The winner will then select the benefitting non-profit.

As part of your display, be sure to make a sign with the name of your entry, and your name, group, businesses or organizations.

All entrants agree to allow use of their name(s) and photos

for promotional purposes.

The scarecrow contest exhibit is family friendly. Scarecrows should be whimsical, humorous, mischievous or lovable– Not frightening. Gruesome, bloody or especially scary entries will be disqualified.

Entries must be sturdy and able to attach to a wood or steel post.

Scarecrows must be durable and able to stand up to sun, wind and very likely rain showers. Use care in choosing your materials. All decorations must be firmly attached to your scarecrow and then to the post. We recommend a 2 x 4 piece of lumber for the central body. A broomstick or 2 x 4 is recommended for the arms.

The minimum is 4 feet tall. The Maximum is 7 feet. Scarecrows must be secured in a manner that they will not blow away and will not otherwise be a danger to or possibly cause injury to anyone. Owners are held solely responsible for the safety and security of their scarecrows.

No electronics may be used in this old-fashioned scarecrow contest.

Contest entries may be dropped off for display between September 6th-7th  from 3pm

to 7pm at Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch, 2448 20th Ave. NE, Emerado, ND 58228

Pickup scarecrows from October 29-30th from 2-4pm, after which they will be disposed of.
