What are your hours?
Nelson’s is open Monday-Friday 3pm to 7pm. Saturday & Sunday 11am to 6:00pm. Note* October 23-27th Nelson’s will close at 6:00pm.
Do you have a lost and found?
Yes! Please call 701.610.6511 with the information about what was lost, along with identifying details.
Can I bring my pet to Nelson’s?
No, pets are not allowed on the farm grounds. We are animal lovers ourselves but for the safety of your pet and the safety of other guests they will not be allowed to enter. We make an exception for service dogs.
Note* We have Pooches in the Patch Event partnering with Journey Home Animal Rescue ONE day each year. You will be able to bring your pup out to our farm on this day only. Check out our event calendar for all the details.
What should I wear Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch?
For safety reasons, everyone should wear closed-toed shoes such as tennis shoes. It is also recommended that you and your children wear socks so that you can have your feet covered while on the bounce house and corn kernel silo. Always dress for the weather and bring sunscreen.
How long should I plan to stay at Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch?
There are many attractions at Nelson’s, with something for all ages. Most guests stay from 2-3 hours.
Do you have real restrooms?
No, the Porta Potty restrooms are located near Nelson’s Pumpkin Shack. Nelson’s also has a handicapped Porta Potty which includes a diaper changing station.
Is the farm wheelchair accessible?
We have closer parking for those in a wheelchair or who have trouble getting around. We also have a handicap porta-potty located near Nelson’s Pumpkin Shack.
The pumpkin patch has been tilled before planting and is covered in vines and the path is uneven and bumpy. It is not well suited for the unsteady walker. If you have trouble, feel free to buy from the great selection of our pumpkins, gourds and squash already picked.
What is your professional photographer policy?
During our patch season, when we are open to the public, we are happy to welcome professional photographers onto the farm to hold photography sessions with their clients. The professional photographer on the shoot and the client(s) will be charged general admission for the day.
Professional photographers interested in evening sunlight who wish to bring several clients for a more private session may photograph their clients in the sunflower field after regular business hours. The fee is $50.00 per evening session. This fee covers the charge for the photographer’s clients.

Can I bring in my own food?
Yes, you may bring food in to Nelson’s. We also have many places on the farm to buy meals and snacks. We have limited concessions on weekdays.
Do you allow alcohol?
We only allow alcoholic beverages, sold in specific areas by Nelson Pumpkin Patch LLC. Guests can NOT bring their own alcohol onto the farm.
Do you have First Aid Kits?
Yes, located at Admission and Nelson’s Pumpkin Shack.
Do you allow smoking or vaping?
No, smoking and vaping are not allowed on Nelson’s property.
Payment & Purchasing
Who needs to pay the general admission to Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch?
Everyone 3 and older pay to be admitted to Nelson’s and all the attractions. Ages 2 and under are free. Admission is $13.00 per person.
Can I purchase pumpkins without paying admission?
No, all guests must pay admission to the patch to purchase pumpkins.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We do NOT accept checks.
Do I get a free pumpkin with my admission price?
No, you do not receive a free pumpkin with your admission. Pumpkins are sold separately.
Do you rent strollers, wagons or scooters?
No, we do not, sorry!
Do you sell gift cards?
No, we do not sell gift cards.
How much do the pumpkins cost? How many pumpkins do you grow?
Pumpkins are purchased at Nelson’s Pumpkin Shack. Pumpkins are sold by size and variety. Pumpkins range in price from $1.00-$20.00. There are about 35 varieties of pumpkins grown at Nelson’s on 10 acres of farm ground. Most pumpkins are chosen from the field, but we have many pre-picked pumpkins in the buildings to choose from.
Can I leave Nelson’s and return later in the day without paying admission twice? Or can I go to my car and re-enter Nelson’s?
Yes. When you return, simply show your wristband to the person taking tickets at the entrance. A different color of wristband is used each day.
Reservations & Discounts
Do I need to make a reservation if I bring a large (100 or more) group?
We would be happy to help you make arrangements for a large group, but it is not necessary. By contacting us we can arrange for quick and easy entrance for your group.
How do I reserve the Campfire Site or Party Room,
Reservations are made by calling 701.610.6511 starting July 15th. Nelson’s has one campfire site and one party room that can be reserved throughout the season. Click on the “Events” tab to find out more information.
Are there any discount tickets that can be purchased for large groups during regular business hours?
No, Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch does NOT offer discounted rates to groups.
Do you have a Military discount?
No, we do not have a military discount. However, at Nelson’s we do honor Veterans or active-duty military members one weekend of the season. Check out our events calendar for more information.
