You are invited to bring your class out to our farm this fall. It is a place for kids to experience a farm during the harvest season, see how pumpkins grow, and have a great time doing so with their peers!
Admission is $5.00 per student/guest. All guests must check in at Nelson’s Pumpkin Shack upon arrival. No personal checks are accepted from students.
This fee includes admission to the patch, hayride & and a small pumpkin given only to each student- Pumpkin availability depends on the growing season. This admission fee DOES NOT include the haunted house, bounce house, bee train, Piggly Wiggly Racers, knocker balls, corn cannon, pumpkin blaster, and mega slide. These rates are applicable to schools/groups who make reservations on weekdays before 3:00 P.M.
*This rate will not apply when we are open for extended weekday hours-i.e. MEA/NDEA Conference Days.
Complimentary Entry for Teachers & District Employees!
Just bring your school ID and receive complimentary entry on your field trip — paraprofessionals included. Parents and siblings accompanying you on your trip pay the $5.00 admission fee. Under 3 is free!
Homeschool Groups/MOPS
A minimum of 15 students is required for reservations. Admission is $5.00 per student/adults visiting the patch. Under 3 is free!
Teachers/Groups
Students must be supervised at all times in the patch! Most groups plan to spend approximately 2 hours at the patch. It generally works well if you split the kids into 5 or 6 groups, if you have enough adult supervision for each group. Several schools/groups also bring a sack lunch to enjoy at the patch! Please make sure to reserve space for lunch dates!
Teachers… come have your students learn about a small piece of North Dakota history. Come and check out an original Nelson Family “Cook Car” used in the late 1800’s. This restaurant on wheels was pulled from field to field during the days of threshing.
